Bought this based on reading LOTS of reviews and had very high hopes for it. On the machines first use it let me down.
1). The juice extracted (from apples at least) collects with a very nasty scummy foam, there is a separator in the jug but Phillips needn't have bothered as its not up to the job. The only way I've found to get clear juice is to pour everything (foam included) from the jug through a jelly strainer.
2). The filter in the unit itself bungs up very quickly and easily, after maybe 7 or 8 apples its no longer able to separate pulp from juice and everything is poured straight into your jug.
3). The design of the filter cavity is bad, a LOT of pulp collects and sits on top if the filter / separator in the main housing, this makes the waste that bungs up the unit in comment 2 above and does not feed into the pulp bin properly. I have to stop and manually scrape all this out every 5 or 6 apples or so.
4). The components do not fit together well, particularly the seal between the housing and the lid. This problem is particularly noticeable when debris and pulp collects (see point 2) and results in apple juice pouring down the side of the main housing and over your counter, and not through the spout into your jug.
5). Despite its power, it does a very pour job of "extracting juice", the pulp in the bin is still very wet and the juice in the jug is very pulpy. Fail.
I am extremely disappointed with this unit, I had a very old 250w Kenwood juicer that I bought 7 or 8 years ago, it worked much better than this unit, the main differnce being I had to cut up the fruit with the kenwood whereas this takes whole apples.
I will be returning this to amazon, its an absolute joke of a product.
