I was sceptical about 'ion conditioning', thinking it was just a gimmick. I tried it out in an admittedly unscientific experiment, by parting my hair and drying one side with the ion conditioning on and the other side with it off. The side I dried with the ions on was really much smoother and silkier, it looked shiny and felt soft. The side dried without ions had the usual post-blow dry feel, coarse and rough with no shine. So the ions do seem to have a genuine and noticeable effect.
The drier itself is attractive in black and gold, but I do find it very heavy and the handle is quite thick and chunky, it's not comfortable to hold for very long. I only finish off my hair with the drier though after leaving it to dry naturally, so I don't hold the drier for long. For longer periods of use, it may be uncomfortable and give you arm ache. I also find it really noisy, and to be honest I couldn't use it for very long anyway because it feels like it's giving me a headache after a few minutes. I haven't had it very long, just a couple of weeks, and I'm starting to think wistfully of a less powerful, low noise drier.

Great item, well designed, excellent flow although we use it without the adapter as the airflow doesn't seem so refined. The cable is really long and this helps as we have 3 kids and two of them are at the age where they love to run and you have to catch them. =). There are no bad points that I can really think of maybe the only down point is you have to keep using the cooling button if you have the heat on full power because it gets REALLY hot!! Oh one other thing which is worth mentioning is the Ion shot on this hairdryer really works a treat, we've had other hairdryers with this function before but it never really seemed to make much of a difference, with this hair dryer it really does!!! My wife left the ion shot on by mistake and I came along and used the hairdryer afterwards not realising and... POOF! Instant afro!! LOL 10/10 for this product! I can't really fault it!

Generally I think that a hairdryer is a hairdryer and that there's not a whole heap to distinguish one from another. This is no exception - it's quite gusty and has a good range of heat/speed settings and so it dries your hair quite nicely.
If I had to split hairs, (excuse the pun), I'd say that a good thing that makes this hairdryer stand out from others is the length of the cord. At 3m it's a lovely long cord that should allow you to have your hairdryer wherever you want it. It also has a turbo boost button for faster drying and a cool shot button to fix your style, (in theory at least!). On the downside the width of the handle/bit of the hairdryer that you hold is quite large - my hand doesn't fit all the way around and that makes it quite tiring and uncomfortable to use for any length of time. The Ionic Conditioning that it claims will give you moisture rich, shiny hair? Well, to be honest I really cannot tell that this makes any difference at all - I'm sure that using this every day will frazzle my hair just as much as any hairdryer!
I think it's quite misleading that the picture for this hairdryer shows a diffuser as the hairdryer DOES NOT come with a diffuser. Be warned if you're after the whole lot!
On the whole this is a decent hairdryer at a sensible price. However, if you have smallish hands then it may not be the most comfortable for you to use.
