This is the first electric epilator I have bought. I specifically chose it because it was a 'Body and Face' Epilator. However the electric epilator, as the instructions say is not for use 'above the neck'. They provide the gimmicky light tweezers for the face and while tweezers are strictly speaking an 'epilator' it seemed a bit of a swizz to me, like all hirsute females I already owned a pair of those!
However, that said, I have used the electric epilator on my legs, which was not as satisfyingly smooth as shaving, but not bad, and the re-growth is less spiky. The best results I found were on the underarms and bikini area. I have thick dark hair and get fed up with shaved underarm hair growing back daily. The epilator was excruciatingly painful the first time, but I persevered (feeling quite hard) and the results were smooth and long lasting, the next time I did it it hardly hurt at all, the same goes for the Bikini line, although I only did this in a new toy addiction!
Against the instructions I have used this on my upper lip and chin, which was successful, better than the annoying wax strips I've been using for years. Impossible to use on the eyebrows as there is no small attachment head - unless you like the totally removed and drawn on look!
I have only used the trimmer and normal epilator heads; basically I want something efficient that does the job, not fancy massage cushions and whatnots.
I did get a bit of trouble with in-growing hairs, but a decent exfoliating sponge seems to do the job and now gives me something more to do in the bath, I rather miss the shaving routine!
Because of the disappointment with the 'face' part I give this 3 stars, I'm not sending it back, (despite the fact Philips have 90 day no quibble money back) - so that's got to say something!
