I read quite a few reviews on this model and was nearly put off from the comments regarding that the product pulls your hairs and hurt. I agree with this but I also disagree :)I have had regular waxings "down there" for about 5 years and of recent weeks I started to get ingrowing hairs so this is why I wanted to invest in a shaver. The best time to shave with this is when your skin is super cold or cool. Otherwise, if you are warm or sticky then it will pull the hairs and hurt. Also its best used when the hair is about at least 4mm long and stretch the skin. Basically, apply the same principles as when you would have a wax. After a shave I noticed how close it gets and therefore the hairs are extremely short and virtually non existent. It takes about 3 - 4 weeks for me to grow to the 4mm length and I presume this is the shaver doing this as on previous shavers I used inbetween waxes never lasted that long. So all in all a good product in my very "personal" opinion. Just remember girls, that we all have different skin, hair and tolerance so its hard to fully tell if it'll suit you. But to help, I am blonde, I have eczema and sensitive skin and I also have a low pain threshold and I find that this shaver/epilator is fine for me :)

I have purchased this item recently (Philips HP6572) and found the performance better than expected. Includes three attachment out of which, attachment for trimming and shaving is quite usefull. The light attached to the machine makes even the smallest hair visible. Also includes simple carry bag (not luxury bag). Very quick, took only 6 min to perfectly epilate one leg. Slightly painfull, redness and pain gone within an hour. The manual provided is not of much use.While purchasing i was in the wrong belief that it will be also possible operate the machine on BATTERY power. This is the only drawback. While purchasing this item i would suggest to also have a look on: 1) Philips HP6576 Satin Perfect Body And Face Rechargeable Epilator with Luxury Bag, Light Tweezers And Three attachment Heads 2) Philips HP6570 SatinPerfect Luxury For Legs Epilator With Luxury Bag And Two Attachment Heads COMPARISON: The epilating machine and epilating head for all the models are exactly the same. HP6570- cheapest as compared to other two (Amazon price-44.95). Only two attachment, Trim and shave attachment NOT PROVIDED. Mains operated only. HP6572- expensive than HP6570 (Amazon price-59.09). 3 attachment head provided ,which includes Trim and shave attachment. Mains operated only. HP6576- expensive than the above two models(Amazon price-67.65). 3 attachment head provided, which includes Trim and shave attachment. Operated both MAINS and CORDLESS (rechargeable), ONLY ADVANTAGE AS COMPARED TO HP6572. Also includes Luxury tweezers with an integrated light (not of much use as simple tweezers do better than these).

I would definitely recommend this epilator to anyone that was considering buying it. After around 7 years of getting my legs waxed I decided that I would buy an epilator to save some money. I found it really hard to choose the epilator that would be best suited to myself, this Philips HP6572 is really easy to use and as I had been getting waxed for so long there wasn't any pain. Also the results last for around 4-5 weeks which is really good too.
