Having purchased the philips hdd05/05 , I found it to live up to my expectations very well. It is very user friendly and the headphones supplied sound superb. I have 500 songs on so far and still plenty of room left for other tracks, its in a really competitive bracket about £100 mark but i would recommend this player to anyone. well impressed!

Just bought one of these and found that it is fantastic after running into the computer room and getting it started up straight away, it was the best mp3 player that i have ever bought before and i would strongly recommend this to anyone that wishes to purchase an mp3 player!!!! Buy one because they are absolutely fantastic!! They are so easy and also quick to use, the charge speed for them is fantastic also. Fantastic, it also runs on any operating system so it doesnt matter if you still have the old windows 98. Go and click on that icon that says 'add to shopping basket' at the top of the page!!!!!!!

I first purchased one of these in October of 2005 since I wanted a good sized MP3 player from a reputable company but did not want an ipod.
The first one I got lasted barley an hour when it froze as I was putting my music on. I took it back and there was no problem at the store. The next one was mostly fine. The first set of songs I put on, only half came on, but I managed to sort it. Every now and then songs wouldnt go on or if they did they were at about 20% speed. This one stopped working about 10 months later when it froze again. (When I say freeze, I did actually try to do the reset method shown in the manual) I took this one back again but had lost my reciept. Fortunatley the store was really good about it and exchanged it for me. (Dealing with them was the best part of this whole experience) The third one worked without any problems untill its death 14 months later. As I was turning it off the word "off" remained on hte screen for sometime after. The next time I tried turning it on it wouldn't go past the PHILIPS start screen. It won't conect with my computer and it doesn't charge normaly. The charge time was rather good but it didn't hold charge very long if you were only listening to it in small doses. If you put it on and left it on it would last rather well like on a long car ride. It was really easy to use. Easy to find the song you wanted and easy to put music onto. The earphones sounded really good (untill the right one stopped working after around a year) I did like it and do miss it but I certainly wouldn't recomend it to anyone nor would I purchase another one. Godd while it lasted.... which wasn't long enough.
