Complicated espresso machines are all very well, but making coffee doesn't have to be an intricate process. The Essence Coffee Maker is designed to make it as easy as possible to get filter coffee just the way you like it.

The Essence Coffee Maker uses a built-in balance that weighs the coffee so you know when you've put in enough. This can be a little fiddly to get set up and you need to make sure it isn't jammed before you start, but once it's set you can choose how strong you want your coffee and get the right brew every time.

Simply adjust the balance so the white indicator is in the right place and fill the machine with water. Both the jug and the machine are marked in cups, so you know how much coffee you're getting. You don't have to use a special scoop or count spoonfuls; to get the right strength every time you just add coffee to the filter until the indicator is back in balance. You don't need to fuss around with paper filters either, because there's a washable mesh filter.

The coffee brews very quickly and the hotplate keeps it warm for up to two hours. After that it turns itself off automatically, so the dregs won't bake onto the bottom of the jug. You won't have to keep cleaning the hotplate either, because the filter doesn't drip onto it when you take the jug out and the flip-top lid on the jug makes it easy to wash out quickly.
