This elegant and durable stainless-steel Brushed Metal Jug boils water quickly. The safety system turns the power off once the water has boiled, if the kettle is accidentally switched on when empty, or in the case of a short circuit. The removable and washable scale filter ensures hot beverages that are free of any scale particles. The concealed heating element heats evenly, fast and efficiently. The element surface is completely flat, making it easy to clean.

The easy-to-view water-level indication windows on either side of the kettle make it ideal for both right- and left-handed users.
Cordless
The kettle can be easily lifted from the base, providing maximum freedom of movement when filling or pouring.

The kettle always clicks smoothly in and out of place on its 360 degrees rotational base.
3-level safety system
Auto shut-off is activated when the water boils. The boil-dry protection switches the kettle off when there is no water inside, and a one-shot thermal fuse completely cuts off the power in the event of a fuse short-circuit.

We had been looking for quite a while for a nice new, brushed stainless steel kettle, but after looking at lots of different designs we opted for this one.
I am very pleased to report that over a year after purchasing our Philips kettle (from Amazon) it is still as good as the day we bought it! The Stainless Steel body is very easy to clean so still looks fab, it still boils water very rapidly, and we've had no problems with leaks or drips (which I know can happen with some kettles after a while) so it still pours far more effectively than any other kettle I've used.
No gimmicky flashing lights to go wrong, just a good solid product. It comes with a water filter that is easy to remove and clean ensuring nice clean boiled water every time; we added a removable metal limescale inhibitor/catcher and this has helped dramatically to reduce the build up of limescale so the inside of the kettle is still also nice and clean!

My last £70 "designer" kettle lasted barely two years! Bought this one based on previous reviews - was not disappointed. Nice design, not too large and brushed stainless steel finish fits in well with my other kitchen appliances. Excellent value for money!

Having had a plastic Philips kettle for about 10 yrs! I felt the time had come to replace the old girl. Looked at about 100 kettles and saw this one on Amazon (not in Argos i might add). Some kettles where so heavy without water and this one of course is heavier than my old plastic one, but boy does it boil!!! so fast, before it was like watching a kettle boil (ha-ha) but now turn your back and you hear the click. It's easy to clean and very stylish - loved it, loved it, loved it.

Died after 3-4 years
Was ok, hard to empty, died after 4 years. Not too bad, although my parents had a kettle for 15 years with no problems! Back when things were made to last!

It does the job
