The HD2626 is a durable high quality stainless steel toaster, which ensures excellent toast (quick, crispy and equally browned). The durability refers to the material, the lifetime of the appliance and the level of quality testing insisted on by Philips. What can I say? - this is the best toaster I have ever had. It toasts evenly on both sides and has loads of extra functions that come in useful. I use it every single day. It also looks fantastic with the matching kettle. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

... when things really work! I bought this toaster on the strength of Mrs Bone's review and all I can do is echo what she says. It produces the nicest toast I've ever tasted.

I bought this toaster on the strength of the previous reviews.
It looks good. Seems well made. But even on the lowest browning setting of 1 the toast burns. Also the inner facing side of the bread toasts a lot faster than the outer side.
Maybe I have a faulty toaster.
I did try to ring Philips Guarantee department, but was held in a queue for ages, then when answered was told that particular department was very busy & so they would ring me back. As yet I have not been rung back.
Therefore I have already ordered the Bosch toaster, also from Amazon. So lets see how my new Bosch performs when it arrives.
