If you have FREEVIEW on your telly, you may agree with me this service can be at times pretty repetitive or dull. One way around it is to play favourite DVDs at a mutually agreeable time. Or play DVD films each of you like at a different times.
The DVD player
When you look at it for the first time, it does not have impressive quality, but just wait. The player is the size of a thin coffee table book. The hand set has responsive and positive button presses. As usual there are sub - menus accessed via the handset to tweak the players settings. And can I say its not really a home cinema system and has SCART connectivity, so its not really for a really up-to-date Hi-Fi buffs.
Other uses with which this DVD player is compatible
One of my hobbies is to create and burn family DVD's. And I am please to say these closed CD's / DVD's play with no problem. When playing closed media - without an G.U.I front end created by say Roxio, or Nero, - the player handles this with a basic file manager to allow the selection of compatible files. For example, raw JPEG photographs and mp3 files play with no problems.
Long term comments
The visual play back quality from this device looks great on our 28" Sony. This DVD player is both economical priced, and VERY reliable, and has great quality playback. Its possible you may be interested in a more expensive DVD player, but this has proved to be a great machine. And it does not look that bad when you realise what a gem this DVD player really is!
