Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Dual Media

Philips DVD Recorders support ‘dual media’ recording - the ability to create recordings on DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW and DVD+R DL discs. Now you can buy any disc and the Philips recorder will always create fully compatible recordings, which can be played by any DVD player.

Direct Dubbing

Having a Direct Dubbing button allows for the user to start recording from the DVD disc without complicated menu system selection or input/output selection for separates.

i.LINK digital input

Also known as IEEE 1394 and FireWire, i.Link carries all audio and video signals via a single cable digitally, with no loss in picture and sound quality. With i.Link digital video input, you can copy your home videos in their original digital picture quality.

USB Direct

Simply plug your device into the USB port on your Philips DVD system. Your digital music and photos will be played directly from the device. Now you can share your favorite moments with family and friends.

VIDEO Plus+

With the VIDEO Plus+ system, all you need to do to program your video recorder is to enter the ‘Pluscode’ – a single code of up to nine digits (but usually less) that is printed next to each TV program in most TV guides.

This DVD/VCR combi recorder has got to be the easiest machine ever to use to convert those precious videos to DVD. Very simplistic instructions, easy to set up and one touch button recording. I have converted all my videos to DVD using the slow play option from the drop down menu, just over 6 hours of recording on each DVD+RW disc. It allows recording to DVD+-RW, DVD+-R, DVD+R DL and VHS. It has the facility to edit each recording that you make i.e. name the film title or name of occasion recorded (birthday etc) . It also comes with video plus and has all the support for recording from digital video camcorders. It is compatible with CD, CD-R/-RW, MP3-CD, MP3-DVD, WMA. The only drawback is the audio playback from older videos can often be poor and it weighs 5.2 kg. Altogether an excellent machine for those who have little knowledge about digital machines and all for just under £175.00 delivery free.

Wanted a machine to copy home produced videos and not a deal of choice in the market. Had problem with the Quick Instructions to dub. You need to follow the instructions in the booklet, and yes, it works well and there seems to be no loss whatsoever of detail or sound in the copying. Even copied a video, which had itself been copied from 40 year old 8mm cine film, by my home video camera....Very pleased so far.....

Brilliant 5 Oct 2008
This does just what it says - and easily. I have had soooo many problems in the past simply trying to copy tape to disc - either old VHS, or modern 8mm, and digital tape - so am absolutely chuffed that this is simple one button copying ! No DVD format problems either - because it will use any - "+" , "-" ,and dual layer......highly recommended ! (don't expect a slim line machine though - it is a big old VHS style) Also great for front connections to camcorder - incl; firewire, phono, and usb !
