Installing easily inside your PC (Philips provide a simple step-by-step guide) this great CD and DVD burner is the ideal way to store or share your data, music and video material. It's the ideal storage or backup solution, letting you store up to 4.7 GB of data on one DVD and is perfect if you want to share your home movies with a wider audience using the included DVD creation software.
When making recordings, you can use DVD+R and CD-R write-once discs as well as rewriteable DVD+RW and CD-RW media. Reading back pre-recorded material, the DVDRW416K will happily retrieve data from all popular DVD-ROM, DVD+R/+RW, DVD/R/RW, CD, CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW formats.
A range of great software is bundled with the drive to help you make the most of your new purchase including myDVD, PowerDVD, Nero 5 & Pinnacle Studio. Blank DVD+R and CD-R media are also included, to let you get burning right away.

What a mistake,

This is a fine dvd writer alright and is fast on Cd-r's, but I didn't not realize that DVD+R and DVD-R where different formats, I bought this and them some DVD-R disc and when I tried to burn them they wouldn't even pick them up, all I wanted to say was before you buy this make sure you know it does not support DVD-R discs only DVD+R disks

A great bargain, it competes on a par with all the other top of the range dvd copiers, its so easy to get up and running and the copying quality is second to none. Dont waste money on others on the market just buy it.

Poor quality,

I bought it about 10 months ago. After I burn about 75 DVDs, it's gone. can't make dvd anymore, just burn cd and read dvd. So if you are a heavy user like me, better look for another brand.
