We purchased this phone so I could put on the handsfree option (an excellent feature) whilst I waited for a call centre advisor to become available to take my call, this meant I could continue to carry out other 'tasks' at the same time. However I do agree with other 2 reviews that the volume does not go as high as one would expect. It is certainly clearer than my old telephone (BT Studio 1500) which buzzed, you do not get any buzzing with this Philips model. One other thing that worries me about this phone is its not difficult to knock the phone of its docking station. But still all in all its better than my old telephone.

Good looking - well you can see that! Sound quality is not like any phone I've ever used (not the usual tinny sound). Plays nice ring tunes and the clock is a nice touch.
Works to nearly 1/4 mile here so can take the dog for a walk while yacking!
BTW - TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO SAY ITS TOO QUIET AND CAN'T ALTER THE VOLUME... during a call use the up and down arrows button (yes the big one in the middle) -- "SIMPLES" (not rocket science, eh?).
If you take this "moan" out of all the other reviews this phone would collect 4-5 stars from everyone. Bit like buying a screwdriver and not knowing which way to turn it so slagging it off..!
Graham Norton has one on the desk on his show - don't know if that's a reason to buy one though..!

Bought this recently for my "new" house, attracted by the claims of fantastic clarity etc. I have to say, it really ain't all that! The sound is so quiet ( & try as I might the huge instruction booklet will not yield a simple Volume adjustment) that you have to ram your ear into the earpiece to try to hear the other person-which hurts!

Battery Life is the worst I have ever experienced
Batery of this phone doesnt lasts for more than one and a half hour and that makes it almost redundant, a cordless phone is enjoyable with a long lasting battery. Read more
