I bought this product through Amazon a few months ago with the intention to use it as my home phone and also to make international calls using Windows Live Messenger's pre-pay service for making calls to landlines (Verizon Web Calling).

When I installed it I was very disappointed to learn that I could only purchase credit for the Verizon service using Amex or Diners Club credit cards. Consequently I never used the VOIP function of the phone.

Today, I learnt that the Verizon service is no longer available at all. I am now stuck with a very useless Philips VOIP phone.

The fact that this phone's VOIP function can only be used with Windows Live Messenger and now can't even be used to phone anyone other than other MSN users severely restricts its usefulness.

A clear digital phone I use this phone outside in my garden no problem connects each and every time. phone can be used has a normal phone or Window live Messenger! All rounder grate phone you won,t be disappointed.

I recently purchased 2 of these they are extremely well made, look fantastic, small nice to hold and colour screen, primarily I will use these as DECT phones but they also have VOIP compatibility with Windows Live Messenger have not tried this yet but looking at the manual seems straightforward to set up, so at �19.99 these are a bargain even if you only use as a standard digital phone.
