1. the smell of the foodstuffs within the fryer was extremely unpleasant and lingered in the house long after the fryer had been used
2. we were disappointed with the amount of food that could be cooked in the basket, necessitating the cooking having to be done in two/three batches - inconvenient for family use and even for us, as a retired couple - fish had to be cooked in two batches.
Impressed with Philips' policy of refund with 60 days.

This little item has become an absolute essential in my kitchen.I treated myself to one in November and since then,have hardly touched my conventional oven.I use this little beauty for frying,baking,roasting and reheating.It"s great.I used it to cook my church some chips and the comment i had was that they were the best chips they had ever tasted.Frozen roast potatoes also come out a treat,as does chicken,fish and steak.This gadget takes a little getting used to,but once you learn to master a new cooking technique(using hot air),this little machine will become for you a kitchen essential.

I bought this so that I could eat "healthy" chips LOL. My son uses it more than me but it gets used at least 3 times a week. We haven't quite mastered "golden" chip yet but I expect it will be a matter of trial & error with the temperature & perhaps timing. We are sticking to the recommendations at the moment but they are brown round the edges whether they are frozen or fresh. Also can't get the fresh ones to go crispy!! My real annoyance is that for the price Philips could have thrown in the baking tray but you have to buy this separately from their website! I didn't read any reviews that had the same problem with the chips so I will keep practicing :)
