Can't believe anybody has reviewed this cracking dvd player yet but here goes...
1. Plays DVDs first and foremost and upscales them via the HDMI cable included. Don't worry if you dont have as HD TV cos it has a yellow, red, white scart connection included too.
2. You may ask is it multiregion. It is set to R2 but I found a code to make it region free! Using the remote press the following buttons: power on, disc (don't have any discs in yet), press eject, then 9, 9, 9, 9, 0 - that's you should say region 0 on screen. I did it this morning so i know it works.
3. Home Cinema Speakers and Sub-Woofer give you DTS/Surround surround from your discs without having wires all around the room keep the wife happy.
4. Plays CDs
5. Plays my Ipod (I have a 2010 nano)
6. You can connect your TV via red, white RCA to have it play out of the speakers.
7. USB connection allows you to watch downloaded movies from PC, Digtial photos/video...tons of formats and subtitles supported.

I was looking for a home theatre without all the wires and around £100. Lot`s of searching and then the CTS4000/12 popped up. I`m amazed as it plays DVDs (upscales too), CD`s, links to my Sky Plus , iPod dock AND sounds good. Ok, there`s not much surround sound but the bass response, for such a small system, is great. Certainly much better than my Samsung`s 42" Plasma speakers, which was the whole point. Very neat and compact too, keeps my wife happy! Overall really good value. Don`t understand why Philips don`t manufacture any more....
