Poor performance:impossible to hear Radio4 above the noise of the (non-power) shower, even at max volume (32). Quite why it has so many volume settings defeats me. Definitely not for use in the shower.

Some reviews have been quite unkind about this radio, so much so that I almost didn't buy one. So glad I didn't pay heed because it's just great! I'll just run through some things I wanted to know before I bought one but didn't have the information. The strap detaches so if can be hung from the shower rail easily but it also has rubberized pads on the bottom so it can be stood up. It switches on by pressing the volume button, so the sound level stays constant between uses. It has a small cord aerial that I've tucked into the back because the reception is excellent without having to unwind it. The sound is excellent in my opinion, not in the least bit ' tinny' and a really decent volume, certainly able to hear if over bathroom sounds. The presets (20 for mw and 20 for FM) are easy to set up and use. Be aware though that the time isn't displayed whilst the radio is on ( it displays the station frequency). Yes, I would recommend this to anyone.
