Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Easy glide makes easy ironing for real
This is an attractive looking iron in four shades of blue. The cord is two and a half metres long , a very useful feature as plug sockets aren't always where we want them.
The iron comes with its own filling cup for easy pouring of the water into the iron. To use first you set the steam level, which is easy with a small slide control, and then the temperature you want by dial and switch on.
The iron reached the required temp for cottons really quickly . Start ironing and find the iron really does glide . It is in all honesty, the easiest ironing I have ever done and has impressed me.
The Philips Azur iron has many claims so here goes :
Continuous steam: yes.
Steam boost for stubborn creases: works brilliantly.
Vertical Steam: I haven't yet tested, I will return for that in a couple of weeks.
Steam tip: excellent, essential for shirts especially. You activate this with an easy to see button on the right side of the handle.
Drip stop system: yes, really no drips.
Double Active Calc-System: needed for hard water areas, I will have to test this out in a couple of weeks as its too soon to be needed yet. Electronic safety shut off: Yes. Which is a brilliant safety feature. So if you did leave the iron unattended it will turn itself off.
Suitable for tap water: well instructions say use half tap half distilled in hard water areas if you can, I did, but its good to know that I can just fill from the tap if I want to.
Spray function: Works well, easy to reach button on left side of handle.
When the iron is ready to put away the cord easily wraps around the iron for storage.
I will update this review in two or three weeks after some more use to be sure it keeps its excellent standards.

Steamy nights in 16 Jun 2011
By Quiverbow TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
After first picking up this iron, I thought it was quite heavy and would make ironing difficult and take longer, but when I started using it, little effort was needed as it glided easily across the clothes with the ionic deep steam helping to get creases out quickly. (This produces finer steam than usual.) I found that even stubborn creases on thick materials such as denim were easy to shift with the special steam tip soleplate, as it seemed to enhance the distribution of steam to every part of whatever was being ironed.

It's equipped with a drip stop function and automatically stops producing steam when the temperature is too low to prevent water dripping out of the soleplate. Not only that, it also has an auto shut off function that switches the iron off if it hasn't been used for a while.

It has a double active calc clean function where a tablet inside the iron is constantly active (which doesn't need replacing) and removes the scale particles from the iron by filling the water tank to maximum, heating the iron. When it is hot, hold it over the sink, and gently shake it, steam, and boiling water come out of the soleplate getting rid of all that nasty stuff you do not want inside.

Overall, a good iron, which got the job done in half the time of one I previously used, but, at the time of writing, it might seem a bit overpriced. Moreover, that's part of the problem; though there's nothing wrong with this, and it does look nice, the Hoover Ironspeed SRD4110 Ironing System with Unique Patented Multi-Steam Technology and Steam Brush Attachment is far superior but then it does carry a much higher price tag. There are loads of irons to choose from, so it won't be an easy task getting the one that's right for you but, although looking expensive and by no means the best option available, this is worth putting on your list of potentials as it will make life both easier and faster. And that is something for which it's sometimes worth paying extra.

Well worth the price. 12 Jun 2011

Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Thing is about an iron, they all do the job one way or another. The real question is how long it will continue doing that job before packing it in. So on that score I'll have to wait a few years (fingers crossed) to see.

So what's good about this one? The first thing I noticed is the weight, it's not too heavy that your hands get tired after a while, but it's not too light that you feel that you must press down to get the ironing done.

The reservoir is a lot smaller than my previous iron, but somehow it seems to last longer, so I'd say it's more efficient than what I've seen before. The cord is much longer than I expected which is very useful, no more having to find an extension in this household.

It's also buttery smooth, again I don't know how long that will last, but ironing with this iron is a much better experience than ever I previously had.

I had a shirt that I'd never get ironed properly, so I tried this iron on it, and result! I finally got this shirt to behave itself. Just for that I give it 5 stars, well worth the price.
