3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better 29 May 2010
This warmer is really handy and saves the worry about the temperature, but there are a few things they could improve on: First - you cannot operate this whilst holding a baby! A bit of a problem if you have a screaming hungry baby and are home alone. You have to hold the unit with one hand whilst pushing the buttons - hard.
Secondly - When you need to empty the old water you have to unplug it from the wall and take the unit - plus cable and plug to the sink - a little dangerous. Why don't they keep the cable the same as the one on their steriliser, where you unplug the cable from the unit.
Apart from those two problems the product does make life easier, lets hope Philips read this review and consider these improvements, it will then be worth 5 stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars quick warmer 13 Jan 2013

I have done a lot of research about milk and food warmers and in the end couldn't decide between this one and nuby deluxe warmer. I decided on this one after seeing nuby warmer in store. They both look good but this one in my opinion is a better quality from a first look and smaller. Still fits all my bottles - Medela small and bugger ones and obviously all Avent. The only one that doesn't fit is tommee tippee but I don't like them anyway so not bothered. Nicely made, small size so it wont take a lot of space on your kitchen top and warms very well - quickly and evenly. I have read probably all reviews on this warmer and i must say i do not understand why people say that the buttons are hard to press. I can easily do it with one hand and no need to hold the warmer as it has rubber base so it doesn't move around unless you really push it. I never warm up anything while holding my son anyway as i find it rather stressful for both of us to wait long enough for my baby to be so hungry that he starts crying but if i had to do that i think it can easily be done with one hand and it takes seconds to switch it on. There is 6 settings and only 2 water measurements to remember so no confusion as with the other warmers I've seen. 150 ml bottle of milk from the fridge heats up in 2 min and the temp is just perfect in my opinion. Food doesn't take much longer either. Also there is no need to unplug the warmer and take the whole thing to the sink - I just switch of the mains and pour it out into a mug or a bowl and the warmer never leaves its place on the counter. It has to be done as the water evaporates when heated so to make sure the warming plate doesn't burn and that the food is the right temp fresh water needs to be poured in every time. Overall really happy with it.

    1.0 out of 5 stars Broken 22 Dec 2012
Ours broke after just a year, and our Philips Avent Bath Thermometer followed it 6 months later. I wouldn't buy this brand again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money 6 July 2012

I have only had this item for a couple of days but so far am really pleased with it. I fought against buying a bottle warmer for weeks thinking that it was a waste of money and boiling water in a jug would suit me fine, believing the only draw back to it was if I burnt myself (which I vowed I would never do as I wasn't that clumsy). Well, guess what, I woke up at 3am one morning and in a rush to feed a hungry baby, poured boiling water down my hand and arms. What you don't appreciate is that you only need between 30-50ml of water per use to heat the bottle, which is substantially less than the half a pint of water I was using each time by boiling a kettle. Also the heater is on for about as much time, if not less, than the time it takes to boil my kettle. It does take Tommee Tippee bottles, not a perfect fit but certainly fits in the compartment. The only modification is that you have to select either one or two points in temperature above what is suggested on the instructions to counteract the different shape of bottle. I know that pre-making and refrigerating bottles is now not suggested as ideal, however due to having a really colicky baby requiring medicine to sit in the milk for at least half an hour before she could drink it, I found this was the only realistic way of dealing with it.

    2.0 out of 5 stars A fairly pointless product 7 Aug 2012
    Amazon Verified Purchase
This isn't much use if you ask me. You have to measure out the correct amount of water, wait for it to warm up the milk, give the bottle a shake, check the milk temperature on your hand, then carry the whole product (wire and all) to the sink to empty the water as it has to be replaced every time it's used.

It's no quicker and I can't see how any easier than just pouring some hot water into a large mug, popping the bottle in for a couple of mins and then checking temp, giving the bottle a shake and discarding the water. If anything it's easier with a mug as you can take this into the bedroom or lounge or wherever you're sitting.

I have to say this was a waste of money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product overall 25 Sep 2010
    By Jules
Very good product although a few improvements could be made.

Firstly, it is quite dangerous and very inconvenient to have to unplug the whole unit in order to empty the used water into the sink before measuring and re-filling the unit with the correct amount of water for the next use. It would be much better if there was a connector to the unit which could be pulled out so that the plug and wire does not have to be taken to the sink with the unit.

Secondly, the cord on the plug is not very long, this could definitely do with another few inches on it.

Thirdly (and lastly) the buttons on the unit are quite hard to press (and you have to press and hold the buttons to start it), you cannot press the buttons when holding anything (including a baby) as you have to hold the unit with one hand and press the buttons hard with the other.

Regardless of the above imperfections, the product is great and I would not be without it. It warms the milk to the correct temperature and does it quickly. It also warms milk from room temperature, fridge temp and from frozen so there are plenty of settings and uses for it.
