My husband bought this when our little girl was born 5 months ago, I was a little skeptical at the time when he bought it, as I always think that the more expensive an item is , the better they are!! , but I have to say in my opinion it beats the more expensive electrical ones.
I use it to sterilise everything, we even took it on holiday with us and the hotel very kindly lets us use their microwave.
I store it in my microwave so it takes up less cupboard/worktop space and is easily washed in the dishwasher.
You put 200ml of water in the bottom of the steriliser, 4 minutes in the microwave and its done!
I would recommend it to anyone.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Our first sterilser was an electric steam version which took up a lot of space in a very small kitchen and required quite vigourous cleaning, so this product was a vast improvement. Much more compact but still with the capacity to sterilse 6 bottles at a time, it only took 5 minutes in the microwave and we were ready to fill the bottles with cooled boiled water (as opposed to when I first sterilsed bottles 5 years ago, it is no longer advised that you make all the bottles in advance to store in the fridge.) You always feel that it is a bonus when you are provided with 'free gifts', but I am not sure if the inclusion of a dummy here will be to everybody's taste. However, Avent is a trustworthy, popular brand and many parents might use the bottles provided here as the start of their collection. I can also see this as being a good, portable product that can be taken away on holiday (we had to use Milton tablets and tupperware on previous trips, whereas this is much easier to put into a bag or suitcase). I liked this product because of its size, ease of use and its very accesible price.

For most of us, the microwave is just another cupboard, getting used a few minutes a day for zapping veges. So why waste bench space with an electric steriliser, when you can just park one in the microwave?
This unit's easy to use - the slots are marked so that you know which ones are for bottles, teats etc (though after a week you'll just pile stuff in!). The lid is tall enough to take the big avent bottles (so if you have Medela bottles they'll fit too).
Alas, we ran ours without water a couple of times by accident, so the basket's got a bit warped.
One star off for not making it easier to gauge the water level - why not put a marking line in the bowl rather than fiddling with measuring?
Still, four minutes on full power, two minutes standing and you're done - wouldn't be without it.

We've used this for sterilising bottles and pump for 5mths and it's been great. A few mins in the micro and bottles etc are ready and keeps them sterile for 24hrs if you don't take the lid off.

it was a toss up between this and an electric one, but as this was cheaper and I was so unsure I went for the microwave one. Its perfect. Very easy to use - pile everything in (I use Tommee tippee botle so the don't fit properly) I don't worry that everythings stacked up all over the place, 200 ml's of water - measured from one of the bottles I'm sterilising, and then 4 mins in the microwave.

Just don't forget to put in al least 200ml's or your items inside may warp (hasn't happened yet, touch wood).

Altogether I'm VERY happy and would recommend it. I don't give it 5 stars as if I need to open for 1 bottle I need to re-sterilise everything.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
We have both the plug-in steriliser and the microwave model. Ultimately, we found the microwave version to be the most useful, as once sterilised, it can easily be moved around and stored. It has a large capacity, with space for up to 6 bottles at once plus other small items. It will sterilise anything heat resistant such as express pump accessories, medicine spoons and water drinking bottles. You can fit a lot in there. Then all you need to do is fill the measuring jug with tap water, pour it in, snap on the lid, and set the device going in the microwave. The time depends on the power of your particular model. Simple as that really. The fact that you can lift the inner tray out in order to tip out old water without completely unloading it is a nice feature. The bottles provided (one 9oz and one 4oz) are easy to fill, use and wash, though you will probably need at least one or two more of each size to properly cater for baby unless you are mainly breast feeding. A pacifier is also supplied, although we didn't make use of that. Once sterilised, it will stay that way for up to 24 hours as long as the lid remains closed, and the clips to secure it are nicely strong, while still being very easy to open. Altogether a very well designed and made unit, very easy to use and ideal for transporting in luggage or using in the home. Nothing to criticise. Highly recommended.

Ok looked at the dimensions before buying and when I could see the width would fit didn't think to check the height. I took it out of the box and tried to put it in the microwave. My microwave is also a convection oven and grill aswell as a microwave and the grill element hit it. I thought that no problem I will go and see in the shops if there is a cheap microwave I can have as a spare to do the job as I could be using my main one for cooking food or just have been cooking in it and so may melt the sterilier. I was amazed to find when I was out the unit was hard to get in to almost every mircowave i put it to and some I couldn't get it in to at all. The width was fine almost every time but the top mean't the glass tray in the bottom had to be relocated on it fixing after the steriliser was in the machine. In the end I just bought a cheap basic's range own brand microwave and just relocate the glass tray as the ones it would fit in to were getting more and more pricy and as a second microwave it wasn't justifiable. If it was about a 1/4 of and inch lower it would have fitted almost any microwave so why so high. Other than that it does the job but after all that hassle thats all the good I have to say about it.
