My daughter received a talking doll for Christmas, as well as this cutlery, and she ignored the doll completely. These are a sturdy, good quality product, suitable for a toddler learning to use cutlery.
I wasn't very impressed with these, I found it hard to use the knife and fork when I was trying to help my son out so I can't see how they expect babies to do much with them. I think I should have gone for a metal set.
