Free your music and charge your Android phone

Obsessed with sound

Get great sound as this speaker plays and charges your Android phone, and autosynchronises its clock with your device. Songbird comes packaged so you can sync music between your phone and PC, and a free Fidelio app for even more functions.

Philips Audio
Smartly designed FlexiDock to fit and charge Android phone

The Philips FlexiDock is perfect for Android phones. Its unique design cleverly docks most Android phones—whether the phone's connection socket is at the bottom, on the side or even on the top. This extreme flexibility is the first of its kind, catering for Android phones that are made by different manufacturers with no standardised position and orientation for the micro USB connection socket. The dock is also brilliantly adjustable, allowing the phone to be held in both portrait and landscape positions, which enables you to position your Android phone at the centre of the speaker.

Philips Audio
Discover, share music and more features via DockStudio app

The free Philips DockStudio app brings a myriad of unique features to your docking speakers. You can listen to thousands of Internet radio stations worldwide, browse through your music collection and share what you are listening to with friends via Facebook, or photos of the artist on Flickr. The app comes with the Songbird music function, so you can discover, play and sync media seamlessly between PC and Android devices. In Clock mode, the app lets you set multiple customised music alarms and gives updated weather reports. Completely free, the app can be downloaded from the Android Market.

Philips Audio
Bluetooth wireless music streaming from Android device

Listen to all your favourite songs on a speaker that delivers fabulous sound. This Fidelio docking speaker plays music from your Android devices via Bluetooth. Simply download the free Philips Fidelio app and the Bluetooth will automatically be turned on and connect once your device is docked. You get to enjoy powerful and outstanding sound, with unbeatable convenience. Hardly anything else sounds as good.

Philips Audio
Songbird to discover, play and sync music between your PC and Android

Songbird is a simple, easy-to-use PC program and Android app. It lets you discover and play all your media and sync it seamlessly with your PC. Its intuitive and powerful music management features let you discover new artists and music styles directly in the program through music and media shops, services and websites. Play your own library and media from the Internet and seamlessly sync all of it from your PC to your Android devices.

Auto clock synchronisation with your Android phone

Simply connect your Android phone and the Fidelio docking speaker will automatically synchronise its clock's time with your phone's.

I was really please to find a docking station for an android smartphone after waiting over a year for one to come to market. As I only wanted a bedside item and not an all singing, all dancing music system, this bottom of the range model seemed ideal. I have had it now for 10 days or so and it device works very well - charges the phone, plays my music through it's 360 degree speakers without any problems, and displays the time. Excellent. The problem comes, however, when you download the app which comes with it. I strongly recommend you don't do this. It drains the battery in half a day, won't switch off and is a real pain. Also, I like listening to Radio 2 when I get up, and Radio 4 during the day to get a more in depth take on the news. Whilst the app gives over 7000 internet radio stations I have been unable to find any BBC station, with the exception of the World Service, which is not quite the same! The app developer needs to sort it out, and quickly, otherwise Philips are going to receive loads of complaints, which will, I feel, affect sales of this super range of docking stations. A real pity.

This has a great sounding speaker, clear sound with just the right amount of bass and treble, however feedback from the phone sometimes does creep through (not enough shielding?).
Excellent clock that is easy to read at night without illuminating the whole room, but the ring of light seems a bit pointless other than as a design feature. Misses out on 5th star due to diabolical Fidelio app for the Android phone. As soon as you dock the phone it switches on Bluetooth regardless of whether you want to listen to music or just charge the phone.. It constantly flashes 'switching on Bluetooth' even when fully connected, it also switches on Bluetooth when plugging a USB cable in order to connect the phone to a pc, what's that all about?
The app never remembers location for weather - ALWAYS locating it to Amsterdam (Phillips HO?).
Overall a good product let down by a very poor App interface, come on Philips, surely you can find someone who can program and fix these bugs?

This is a good quality device that has excellent sound quality. The biggest issue with it is that it has terrible connections options. There is no external audio jack so that you can hook up your phone (or other audio player) via the headphones output. Even the USB connector on the top of the device doesn't connect it to your phone for audio playback. The only way to get sound out of those speakers is to establish a Bluetooth connection, and then you can only use Phillips frankly crappy music app to play anything back (for which you will have to recreate all your playlists). In fact, there is almost no need to connect the phone on the top of the device as shown - you can plug in your phone to any power source nearby and simply connect via Bluetooth. All this wouldn't be so bad if bluetooth connection wasn't so shoddy, and frequently failed to connect, which is especially frustrating when the alarm function only works if the device is actively connected to your phone via bluetooth (so hope the connection doesn't fail while you sleep!). Such a shame about these stupid connectivity issues as it would have been such a great device otherwise.

The unit itself is really good - great sound and holds my HTC Desire HD reasonably firmly (feels slightly floppy, but secure enough) But as others have commented, the Fidelio software is so-so and Songbird, which it also seems to insist on installing is superfluous - I've uninstalled both and it's working just fine without

Waking up to Radio is fine (Fidelio did at least point me towards TuneIn Radio, which does find Radio 4 and 5 happily) so long as you a) have a wi-fi/mobile connecion active; and b) remember to turn the alarm on! (I use Alarm Clock Plus from the Market/Play Shop)

One slight oddity - you can only adjust the brightness of the clock display when your phone is disconnected

You would have thought that with the amount of negative reviews about The Philips Fidelio app that Philips would have got their act together and sorted it. I tried the App and it would not even connect to the AS111. The App was quickly uninstalled!!

Now using Bluetooth to connect my HTC phone to the AS111 and using the Deezer or Songbird Apps to play music, been using for 2 weeks now and no issues what so ever. If it wasn't for the App the product would have got five stars. Sound quality is fantastic for such a small speaker and its crystal clear.

Got this for mothers day to use as an alarm clock and handy overnight charger for my phone. It works well with my Galaxy S2 and Galaxy 5 I am very pleased with it. I have had no difficulty with the software supplied by Philips. I am well pleased. Would consider the larger speaker system for use elsewhere in the home when feeling flush and see a good deal or kids are overcome by generosity again

I've had one of these since the moment it came out. To me this was the only thing the iPhone had over Android. It's worked really well since I've had it. Yes, the Fidelio App has had more than a bug or two, but it's been really stable for months. Wakes me up with multiple alarms for different days at different times with a choice from my MP3s on my SGS2. I've found the clock too bright even on the lowest setting, but a bit of Boy-Racer window tint across the front sorted that out. I haven't used the Std radio function but internet radio works well through it.

Excellent Sound quality, well built. I'd buy it again and would consider the larger units for the Lounge.

Still a little expensive for an alarm clock, but if you want a dock/alarm this is it.
