Philips Photo Clock 13 Feb 2009
Bought as a present for my wife, we have discovered that this is a great product that is easy to configure and easy to use. The radio has prefect reception and produce good clear audio. By introducing a memory card hundreds of photos, videos or tunes can be added. We use it as an alarm clock in the morning and as a living photograph album through out the day. We are very pleased with this purchase.

I just brought mine last week to replace my 12 ear old Radio/Clock Alarm and was looking forward to using this Radio/music-MP3/Alarm/Nature sounds for help me to go to sleep as I do have sleep problems. I was looking forward for a clock radio that will play mp3 directly without having my main radio playing to cut down on Power.

First the LCD screen is not great resolution to show pictures and it is too bright when dimed, It should have a sensor to auto-vary the brightness rather than Time to dim.

Music files you have to go through them one by one, as they are not shown in Album nor does it play playlist or allow the ability to build a playlist.
Alarm is very basic for a expensive model like this one. I would expect for two different alarms i.e weekday alarm and 2 weekend alarm. But this is just a plain everyday two different time alarm.

Also mine have a low volume noise tone and is very noticeable when I have the volume low in which I use to go to sleep.

I have had the Philips AJL308 now for about two months, and from the beginning, impressions seemed to be good. I received it out of it's box, and it looks fantastic. However, it is very different from what I had garnered from research:

Pros:
-It does allow you to use it as a digital photostand.
-It plays MP3's.
-FM Radio is satisfactory.
-Alarm works on time, and it loud enough to wake up.
-Wallpaper can be changed to personalize.
-Allows for certain external media.

Cons:
-This is not your do everything clock. Infact you give up many advanced features for the style and digital photoframe.
-It will not wake you up to your favorite MP3's, only play random alarm clock noises (Such as buzzer, rooster, ocean waves).
-Incompatible with iPods.
-Need to convert your iTunes' music from AAC to MP3, or else it's unrecognizable.
-Only accepts certain picture formats (Mainly JPEG).
-If your devices has playlist, ablum folders, etc, device will read past them and sort your songs without them.
-Not DAB, a standard in UK which will eventually replace FM one day.

Personally, shop around. I'd recommend you view either Phillip's DCB210 or Sony's Sony ICFC7IP.

Good luck! =D
