4.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking unit for the price, 28 Dec 2008
I bought this as a present for some friends and tonight help set it up.
The unit itself feels well built, is relatively compact and good looking.

The installation CD is clear and easy to follow however for me didn't work - it kept reporting a failure to "write to the router". This rendered the quick install guide useless and it didn't declare the IP address for logging into the admin panel of the unit. A browse of the CD (right mouse click and explore rather than autorun) allowed me to find the PDF of the full manual (no hard copy supplied) and establish that the control panel can be accessed via the IP address [192. 168. 2. 1]. You need to remove the spaces, I've put them in as otherwise Amazon won't allow me to post the address up. I've put it here in the hope that it may help others.

I would describe myself as very competant with computers so found that configuring the ADSL router from this point was a breeze, however for those less so there are a vast array of rather scary looking settings that can easily confuse. Just seek out the ISP settings tab, enter the username and password and you you should be good to go!

Speed wise it is excellent and the wireless once setup is secure and faultless. I didn't however use the wireless usb stick, rather the computers in built wireless connection. To setup these up the process should be almost identical though.

I am rating it 4 out of 5 as it requires a bit of patience and understanding to get you running - at least in my case. As it claims to be a starter kit I think this loses it a star.
