I have recently purchased this TV, and am now in a position to give an unbiased review to anyone else tempted to buy this product.
Good Points - Solid build, good looking unit, swivel stand is great. Menus are easy to use, Blu ray movies (through PS3) and HD games (PS3/X-box 360) look impressive. Very cheap compared to other models.
Bad Points - Blu ray movies (through PS3) in 1080p judder noticebly when slow panning (this is a known fault with showing 24 frames per second at 60 hertz and is not specific to this model). Preset picture and sound modes are not that good. Using the personal setting I managed to find a setting I liked, but only one personal setting can be saved. Sound through speakers seems bassy and dull across all presets, there is a sound equaliser in the setup options that may help, but the manual doesn't explain how to use it. Headphone sound appears unnaffected by the pre-sets, and on my set there was a constant low buzz emitted through the headphones which soon annoys (except during blu-ray playback). The set when muted gives off a low volume high pitch whine, altering pitch each time a new scene appears on the screen. The standard definition TV quality is acceptable, but the huge size of the screen magnifies the imperfections/ghosting of the signal. The television is very heavy (the stand alone weighs 6KG). The TV pumps out quite a bit of heat from the top, but I will save on heating bills!(the room felt warm after it had been on a while!)
Summary - Not a bad TV, good looking set, solid build, and cheap for a 42 incher. A bit disappointing on the range of presets (vision and sound) and a few niggly problems. HD overall looks and sounds great, SD looks worse than on a smaller set. Good value for money though.
