I remember buying this on vinyl many years ago, in fact when it was originally released and i thought that it was wonderful.
Now finding this on cd being remastered with extra tracks i find myself falling in love with it all over again.
Phil Oakey's voice is so wonderfully deadpan and fits so well with Giogio Moroder's synths.
My favourite track is Together In Electric Dreams as I remember the film it was from so well, great film and desperately needed to be released on DVD.
Another great track is Why Must The Show Go On, so catchy and takes me back to when music was really good.
Buy it, you won't regret it...

"0 of 473 found people found the following review helpful"... - sadly, one sure way of getting up people's noses is to post a negative review on Amazon. I just wanted to throw another very subjective view into the mix.

I'm a huge Moroder fan, and loved the soundtrack he did for Schrader's "Cat People" in the early 80s. Likewise, I was first in line for every League album and single right up to the Jam & Lewis effort "Crash" in 1986. The idea of these two giants of perfect pop teaming up caused an immediate dash to Our Price in 1985, followed by some disappointment in the complete album. Of course, the title track is wonderful and pretty much the perfect electro-pop song. Running it a pretty close second is "Goodbye Bad Times" which is also a beautifully-crafted pop song. The preceding short instrumental "In transit" fits the mood of the album well, too. Elsewhere, however, I felt that my heroes were treading water.

"Valerie" and "Now" just aren't up there with either the Human League songs (pre-86, anyway) or Moroder's songs for other artists. Even the fair-to-middling material he gave Irene Cara [stands back for massive onsaught from Irene Cara fanbase] is better than this. Plenty of repetition and an over-reliance on the "euro hit" sampled orchestra noise that was in vogue at the time, thanks largely to Trevor Horn's ZTT productions. "Be My Lover Now" has a good hook, but outstays its welcome too - again, I stress this is a personal view, as with any opinion on music.

At the price Mr Amazon is currently asking, this is excellent value for the amount of material, remixes and the two brilliant tracks mentioned above. But those expecting "Dare - Part 2", "Bad Girls - Part 2" or even "Cat People Part 2" may well be disappointed. Sorry chaps, because I love you both.

Philip Oakey, the frontman of the masters of electronic-pop - The Human League combines with the gentleman who he said is the band's biggest inspiration - Giorgio Moroder. The end product is fantastic.

All the tracks (1 to 16, with or without lyrics, original or remixed) are inspiring. Together in Electric Dreams is the most high-profile track on the album and it is brilliant, but Good-Bye Bad Times is just as good and the others are also of a very high standard. Even the remixes (which I normally try to avoid) are done very well and add to the album's appeal. According to Phil, the album only took 3 days to make and even then they had a day off in the middle! It certainly doesn't sound like a rushed production to me.

For anyone who likes Europop & Electronic Music, I would highly recommend this album. I haven't bought many albums this good for [such a low price].

This is an unique album. Just a moment in the 80s, the perfect know-how of techno-pop. And a film "Together in Electric Dreams" whoo!!what a memories !!!! the high school, my girlfriend and me, a radio and that song... together in electric dreams, when we were sixteen or seventeen.
This new enhanced CD is total with three singles in 12'version and istrumental, it's great ! Sometimes I watch the movie, that early-computer in love with the girl...those were the days.
----------------
