This item is an indoor DAB aerial - not a magic wand - and if no DAB signals are present it cannot conjure any up from out of thin air! However, it will work quite well in the medium to strong signal areas it was designed for.
The Philex 27741R is British designed and Chinese manufactured aerial which is suitable to replace some of the detachable aerials fitted to certain DAB radios via a screw-in F connector. It comes with a good metre or so of cable which is already terminated with an F connector so is ready to screw in once the original aerial is detached. It can also directly replace the wire aerials connected to some music centres featuring DAB radios.
This Philex has a heavy base which the aerial rod screws onto, and can be moved around easily to find the best reception spot in the room - without having to balance the whole radio in an awkward position! Windows sills and higher shelves are good places to try first. The aerial is quite compact and once in position is fairly unobtrusive. I am using this with a Denon S52 and it works much better than the supplied T aerial, and is also much easier to find a good signal with.
DAB is already an outdated technology which has many problems, but this aerial from Philex can help you get the best out of what the service offers. It is certainly not rubbish!
