Pewter is an age-old craft that is enjoying a revival today. This book celebrates its heritage and qualities by explaining the techniques that have been used for hundreds of years and continue to be used today. The basic techniques involved with working with pewter are explained and how they can be applied to make a range of exciting pieces far beyond the realms of tankards and hip flasks. About the Author
Fleur Grenier was first introduced to pewter when studying at Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and design, London Metropolitan University. She soon recognised the potential of this traditional material and was drawn to its warm, tactile quality. She went on to specialize in pewter at The Royal College of Art. She is now an established and well-respected pewtersmith who runs courses from her workshop in West Sussex and exhibits throughout the UK. Fleur has won several awards for her work and became a Freeman at The Worshipful Company of Pewterers in 2009. Resident - West Sussex

This book is easily the best and most comprehensive I've found for anyone wanting to learn to work with pewter. It covers the equipment and techniques for various methods of casting pewter, for shaping and joining pewter sheet, for different ways to apply surface decoration and colouring, and for finishing and polishing.There are plenty of exercises and step by step examples to guide you through your first projects, and plenty of inspiration for how to create your own. Highly recommended.

Interested in starting pewter casting, I looked at length for a suitable instruction book, and this is it. I am certainly not disappointed, but it also covers many other aspects of working with pewter. There is a lot here in easily understood text, and I am delighted.
