Is this the one?,

The title clearly states "1998 to 2001 (S to X registration) Petrol and Diesel".
I have Peugeot 206 2.0 Hdi manufactured in 2002 so I emailed Haynes. Their response indicated that although there were some specification upgrades from 2001 onwards the manual would cover 90% of my vehicle. This was good enough for me so now I'll go and replace the front brake pads.

Haines are probably the best car repair manual ever written for diy enthusiasts. The 206 guide is extremely informative in all aspects of home servicing and repairs, invaluable and a good buy.

I ordered the black edition (Peugeot 206 Petrol and Diesel Service and Repair Manual: 2002 to 2006 (Haynes Service and Repair Manuals)) of the 206 Haynes manual, as it's billed as 2002-2006 (51 to 06 registration). The blue edition (Peugeot 206 Petrol and Diesel Service and Repair Manual (Haynes Service and Repair Manuals)) is billed as 1998-2001 (S to X registration). My car's from 2001, but it's a 51 registration, so it's not immediately clear which edition is applicable.
There are some very fundamental differences between the to-2001 and 2002-onwards 206s, explaining the two editions. Turns out I picked the wrong one: my 2001/51 turbo diesel is the old "pre-multiplex" model manufactured in August 2001, rather than the newer "multiplexed" version introduced in October 2001. This means the electrical systems are completely different. Fortunately, I managed to sell the black edition on Amazon Marketplace quickly for only a few pounds less than I paid for it.
