Only guide I know of that covers all of Europe. There are a few quibbles -- favourite golf coures that are left out, the relatively rough quality of the English translations (each page has English plus the local language -- French for French courses, Portuguese for Portugal, etc.) -- but it's the best for what it is. For any specific country there are likely to be better guides (e.g., AA Guide for the UK).

The Peugeot Golf Guide is a reference for those looking for golf courses around Europe. The 1000 courses are described in about 1300 pages, with a page per golf course. In addition there are maps showing where all the courses are situated. Each course description includes a cameo in the national language, and a translation in English. Practical details covering open hours, prices, etc. are included, as is information on the course itself, the clubhouse, and nearby hotels. There is a small map showing the exact location of the course. There is a kind of scoring system marking the quality of the course, as well as the clubhouse and hotel facilities. This last part is probably the bit I use the least. However the guide is ideal for those travelling and looking for a course nearby. I suppose you can also criticise a guide for not including one or another course, but on the other hand this guide identifies lots of courses that you would otherwise never visit. If you are a golfer and travel around Europe then this guide is a valuable addition to you collection of guidebooks.

Had awaited this edition keenly having been very impressed with the previous. I have played golf in various countries in the book. Unfortunately the researchers had clearly not been back to some of the courses in a long time. For example, I visited a course in Italy which was given a good rating to discover it had been left pretty much untended for a year and was verging on the unplayable. This year I was expecting a suitable downgrade but no, still a good score. A few bad experiences like this will drive me away - there are online resources which are better.

Best book I ever bought. 28 Mar. 2014

I lived in Europe for many years with lots of vacation time for traveling. Using this edition and the one before it I was able to target and play over 200 courses to play on my travels. Only maybe twice did I disagree with the ratings of the courses. This helped me choose really good courses in England, Scotland, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. The guide was easy to read, gave good information for location, fees, quality, and description of each course. Have now moved back to US so I can't take advantage of it any more.
