This book will have you crying happy and sad tears the whole way through. I am assuming anybody looking to read this book will have an interest in animals and possibly be lucky enough to have one living with them - in which case this book is for you. You will never look at our pet in the same way again. I lost my precious dog (Briadh) last year and have since rescued another - and this book confirms what i have always believed....that my precious Briadh who is waiting at rainbow bridge sent my new rescue dog to not only help him, but for him to help me.

Jenny Smedley is a truly amazing person. She writes with such affectionate and loving candour about all the animals she deals with in her every day life that you cannot fail to be amazed by her abilities. A must read for anyone who has ever had a pet.

This is a beautiful book filled with comforting and poignant anecdotes about the amazing souls that inhibit the bodies of the beings many of us find to be our very best friends - our pets! Of course our beloved friends have immortal souls like us, feel emotions and pain like us, love like us. In fact, much of the time pets have the capacity to love far better than us - without judgment, without conditions. Jenny explains all of this and more in her usual compassionate and understanding way. This book is a must for any pet owner and lover, and it will bring particular comfort to those who feel they have lost part of themselves when their dearest pet has passed from this realm. I certainly agree that it is definitely a tearjerker, but the insight gained is absolutely worth the emotion!
