This is a nicely produced book, on medium to heavyweight buff paper. There is a two page introduction by Zumthor about the concept for the 2011 Serpentine Pavillion - the idea of a garden in a garden landscape - per the gated potagers of the Alps, accompanied by an evocative Zumthor watercolour sketch. Then its mostly some photos of the pavilion, a planting sketch by Piet Oudolf, and then some stock images of the plants he planted. No text by Oudolf, and no details or working drawings of the pavilion structure. I think with a single building monograph about a garden within a garden at least requires a text by the landscape architect. Sometimes I get the feeling that books are made out of the bits that publisher has readily to hand, rather then them actually drafting up a book structure and going in search of the material to complete that structure.
Not worth buying, given you can read it in under 15 minutes and given there is no reference material to return to.
