I was disappointed because I was looking for the original version by J.M. Barrie, and, yes, this book is by that author but is an adapted version, a short, children's book, profusely illustrated. The Amazon description does not say that it is an adapted version.

Like the previous reviewer stated, this is an abridged version of the story, illustrated by Anne Grahame Johnstone. I was given a copy of this book when I was a child, and I've loved it ever since. I found the illustrations magical and would return to it again and again - to the point that the cover fell off and the book fell apart. I've just bought another copy of the same book, twenty years later, and I'll be taking very good care of it so that it lasts for a very long time.
