5.0 out of 5 stars'O Toole is a fascinating subject and this bio keeps him that way !9 Jan 2007

However outdated this bio is (covers up to 1982), it makes for a fascinating reading about one of the all time great actors, not only because of the subject it covers, but also because it's very well written.
Additionally, there's plenty to look at as well:photos covering the whole spectrum (up to '82) of Peter 'O Toole's life and his illustrious and fascinating career.

Welcome to magical realism. If Lawrence of Arabia comes up in conversation, you know who Joe and Jane America are going to think of. Thanks to Peter O'Toole, these people populating history are remembered, in a way, by all the TV watchers out in Americaland. Thanks, O'Toole, Richard Burton, E. Taylor, and all the rest of the teleprompter-readers who "made history". Just because they never became President doesn't mean they don't matter.
