Peter McBride

P.K. McBride (Mac to everyone) was born in Lincolnshire in 1949. He studied Anthropology at UCL and after dipping into academia and social work, went into school teaching. In 1982 he discovered computers and began writing programs, and books about programming. In the 28 years since he has written something over 120 books on various aspects of programming, computer applications and the internet, and more recently has branched out into language books for house buyers, and green issues.
For much of the last 20 years he has designed and typeset his own books and those of other authors in the Made Simple and Teach Yourself series, finding as much pleasure in knocking other people's raw material into shape as in writing it himself.
When not at his desk, he can be found in the kitchen, or the cinema, or playing with his grandchildren.
