In a nutshell:
Video games based on movies have never had a terrific track record but this looks like breaking the mould forever. Not only is the Peter Jackson himself involved; but so is the Michel Ancel, creator of video game classics such as Rayman. The results look extraordinary.

The lowdown:
You take on the roles of both Jack Driscoll and the mighty Kong. Being the big monkey is great, naturally, but the feeling of power is neatly turned on its head when you play as the considerably more vulnerable Jack. It's an intense, absorbing romp.

Most exciting moment:
Escaping down some white water rapids as a puny human, chased by two tyrannosaurs rex.

Since you ask:
Peter Jackson loved Michel Ancel's Beyond Good & Evil game so much that he asked him to make Kong.

The bottom line:
Potentially, the most cinematic video game ever made.
Harrison Dent

Fun:
King Kong - Well I was surprised I must admit. After a slow start to the game I found myself unable to escape it. I already knew what was going to happen but I wanted to climb the Empire state building, I wanted to fight three T Rexes and I wanted to feel sorry for Kong.

Toward the end the game seems a bit rushed but the T Rex levels make up for the whole game. The first time I saw the T Rex I was like this game was totally worth the £6 I paid, but not only the T Rexes but the way Kong rages and swings about the jungle is hugely satisfying.

Completing the single player alone gets you 1000 gamer score.

You can literally rip the T Rexes jaws apart.

When you play as Kong you won't be let down, he swings, rages and totally dominates.

Giant centipedes will make you poop in your panties when they strike!

I recommend this game for Kong fans, gamerscore whores and just to add to your collection.

Fun:
This was the game I chose to christen my xbox with and was not dissapointed. The graphics are at times amazing but the game could have been better.

Plus points
The graphics are excellent, particularly when staring down the throat of a roaring T-rex. Kong looks great and moves well.
The combat is nicely balanced. There are guns and ammo lying around but they are limited so utilising your surroundings is a nice touch and is more interesting than just blasting everything in sight with the biggest gun you find.
The dinosaurs are all well animated and there is a nice amount of variation so your not just killing the same thing over and over.
The game is fairly simple and easily picked up it is a nice length as there isnt too much depth which brings me to...

Minus Points
Dont get me wrong here I liked the game but.....
You dont get to play as Kong anywhere near as much as you would like as this is the most fun part, when you do what you can do is very linear and basically just swing throush some branches and fight a dinosaur. This is obviously a lot of fun but there was so much potential here.

Summary
Visually great, easily picked up and played and good fun. Gets a little repetative and linear. Had great potential not quite furfilled.

Fun:
Actually King Kong is rather good. The graphics are half decent and the game itself is pretty big. Split into 30+ chapters that mirror the film. You get to fight as Kong now and again but most of the game is a first person shooter.

The controls are awkward initially but you will settle into them. The game saves frequently which is useful. The action is fast paced at times and can get a bit intense. Always carry a spear as ammo can be thin on the ground.

What I didn't like is that most levels are dark and it is hard to see what to do and where to go. The beasties are hard to spot at times. Also, it starts to get a bit repetative half way through.

A decent effort though.
