Reviews

A double volume of laughs from Bolton's most famous stand-up. 'Stand Up UKay' features a selection of Peter Kay's best routines as chosen by the British public. Alongside his take on British wedding dancers, Peter also takes a swipe at garlic bread, dipping biscuits, and includes the video of his No 1 hit '(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles'. 'Special Kay' features all the best bits from the northern comedian's TV appearances over the years, ranging from his early appearances on 'The Last Laugh Show' to his 'Parkinson' and Jonathan Ross interviews and the famous 'John Smiths' bitter ads. Also includes 'The Winner's Song' from 'Britain's Got the Pop Factor'.

I really am gobsmacked at how Peter still manages to get away with re-releasing material that has long passed its sell by date. If you were fooled into purchasing some of his recent dvds then you would have realised by now that Peter has developed a knack for raking in tons of cash by doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!

What we have is recycled material that dates all the way back from the Bolton Albert Hall tour in 2003, and this isn't the first time this has occured either; I count this to be Peters 4th consecutive rehash thus far...

Both of these DVD's have previously been released individualy to very negative reviews, with everyone saying essentially the same thing, "WE ARE TIRED OF BEING RIPPED OFF!!"

If you really want to watch to Peter at a time where he put effort into stand up, just purchase Live at the top of the tower and Bolton Albert Halls Box set, because there is still nothing new to be found here.

Can we have some new stand up please Peter? As we are sick of this recycled garbage.

There has to be an end to this somewhere... Surely?

If you're daft enough to get sucked into this one AGAIN... Go for it!

More rehashed nonsense... This time for the FOURTH time

Shame.

Never in the history of 'Light Entertainment' has one above average comedian churned out so much product from so little material. Peter Kay must now have worn out all the goodwill he earned from his live tours (saw him in Liverpool and he was great) and the sublime Phoenix Nights. While it is entirely his decision to rest on his laurels, please stop inflicting endlessly recycled material on the public.

I didn't think it was possible to rehash rehashed materiel but here is the proof. Peter Kay is a great comedian but he needs to come up with some new material-and fast.

As a Peter Kay fan, I am very disappointed that another rehash has been released for this Christmas. The essence of Peter's comedy is observations of an ordinary person's world, well these are exactly the people who are being ripped off....again!, the fact that it is being released for Christmas makes it even worse, in that this DVD will be bought by someone who doesn't know it is all old material for a loved one who they know is a fan of Peter Kay. I don't expect Mr Kay was the main driver behind this release, but he should have stopped it happening!

I bought this DVD for my boyfriend for Xmas and we were completely dissatisfied. Most of the DVD is taken up with scenes of ordinary people (who aren't remotely funny) talking about Peter Kay or telling his jokes. What there is of Peter is very sparse and reduced to tiny snippets taken from various appearances on TV talk shows or stage shows. What a cheap way to make a comedy DVD!! Feel completely ripped off..

All I can say is if Peter is still making money then good on him, but he's losing respect. This is one of many recycled sets, come back into the spotlight and do something new Peter PLEASE!

As a one time fan of Peters i find it hard to give his work bad press, but sadly i think we are seeing a falling star. This is just another money spinner from the Kay camp, another bodged together DVD of previously released stuff. I wish that the Kay machine would stop trying to squeeze the last few bucks out of Peters loyal fans & either come up with some new material or call it a day.
