Well, I first read this book a few years ago, when I was a little too young to understand it properly. So, I set it aside and recently rediscovered it. And now I'm a little older I can fully understand what poor Seb goes through. The tension Rose puts into his writing is absolutely amazing, and no matter what he does, no matter what you THINK he's about to do, he surprises you (even if he DOES do what you thought he was going to do - which doesn't happen too often.) This book, along with "Breathing Fear" which is the sequel, is a special tribute to what happens when things go wrong.
And you've gotta sympathise with Seb... Because it always happens to him... Making him doubt who he is, or where he stands in his own version of the world he lives in. Is he just there to be used? To be made an example of? And most importantly...
When's it gonna end...?
