Book Description

5 Dec 2005 Dollanganger Family 2

The bestselling phenomenon of the Dollanganger family saga continues, as the children who escaped the attic build new lives, haunted by their tragic past.

The children now growing to adulthood had survived their imprisonment in the dark attic and had broken free to the sunlit world outside. But they found that the horror and pain of their captivity would not leave them. The memory of it would not allow them to lead ordinary lives. Was it their fault? Was there something strange about them?

Only their mother could help them. Only revenge could satisfy them…

Review

‘Beautifully written, macabre and thoroughly nasty…it is evocative of the nasty fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood and The Babes in the Wood, with a bit of Victorian Gothic thrown in. … What does shine through is her ability to see the world through a child’s eyes’ Daily Express

‘Makes horror irresistible’ Glasgow Sunday Mail

‘A gruesome saga…the storyline is compelling, many millions have no wish to put this down’ Ms London

‘There is strength in her books – the bizarre plots matched with the pathos of the entrapped’ The Times

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, but slightly depressing... 2 Aug 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I absolutely loved both this & Flowers in the Attic & would highly recommend them. Unlike so many authors that have failed to produce a decent sequel, Virginia Andrews has written an extremely gripping book that I couldn't bare to miss one word of. I thought it was a great read, but if you prefer happy stories then this isn't for you as there are a lot of tragic deaths & it's quite emotional. An especially brilliant read for teenagers.
