For those lucky enough to be there, words will not be enough. Music luminaries and the enlightened attended Brian Wilson's shows at the Royal Festival Hall in London, this year. This is a recording of the second part of the shows in which he performed the whole of the 'Pet Sounds' album, in track order. Pet Sounds spiritual home has always been the U.K., where it gained it's true reputation as probably the greatest album of all time. And that includes 'Sgt Pepper'. So the performance is extra special.
With gems such as 'Wouldn't it be nice','God only knows' and the sublime 'Caroline,no',a lot of this music will be familiar to millions, but the rest of the album is just as good.
Brian's band is superb and play most of the music almost note perfect to the album, although differing enough to make use of the superb musicians.
Sleeve notes are supplied by Beach Boys unofficial historian David Leaf and compliment rather than patronise.
For those lucky enough to have seen Brian on the 2002 tour, remind yourself of his greatness. For those not priviledged, see what you missed. And weep!
