I purchased the Elite catflap because of the problem of other cats coming in the house, one cat even making itself at home on my sofa during the day. I had a catflap already fitted but it was so drafty and the door stayed open on occasions so when windy the kitchen was freezing and I couldnt hear other cats entering and eating the food. This catflap is brilliant. The door shuts quickly, no draught and no stray cats. I would definitely recommend this catflap. You get what you pay for and this was worth every penny.

I have to disagree with the last review - my kitten/cats took time realising how the flap worked at the beginning as any cat does when it is introduced to a new flap, but since that day everything is fine. I spotted the local Ginger Tom trying to get in last week but the flap did its job. Only problem is when the cat loses the tag which is always likely to happen. Not cheap to buy a new tag and the cat sits outside for a while! I definitely recommend the product, it keeps out other cats and locks my cats in when I want them in - you cant ask for much more than that!

The Elite RFID cat flap has solved virtually all our cat access problems. Now only our cats can get in - no more food being eaten by other cats, no more spraying (yuk) by other cats when they get in (the BIG difference for us!) - which they did with the magnetic variety. They both learnt quickly how it works - it took about a week before they became experts. There are two slight down sides - one is that it is noiser than an ordinary cat flap (which certainly spooked the cats in the early days), and the other is that if the tag gets lost then the cat can't get in or out - I don't think that there's a setting that allows 'open access'. Just keep a spare tag and collar handy. The other great thing is knowing if the cats are in or out - we close them in the kitchen/utility area at night (stops midnight madness round the house so we sleep better), and knowing that there's one hiding somewhere means we can find it, put it downstairs and avoid the 2am cat jumping on sleeping head scenario! Highly recommended, even at the price.

Works fine
It is a little hit-and-miss at times and the cat sometimes has to try a couple of times before getting in/out, but, apart from that small niggle it works fine.

Doen't really work
