This High-Powered Professional unit is designed for use in large room environments such as pubs, offices, restaurants and hotels where there are large rooms.
Using ultrasonic and electro-magnetic technology to repel rodents, it has basically the same functions as the <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00518SIXC/">PestBye Whole House Advanced Rat and Mouse Repeller</a>, but has much more powerful ultrasonic capability. This makes it ideal for large rooms such as a restaurant or pub. It is equipped with three settings, including two powerful ultrasound settings.
* Ultrasonic waves cause auditory stress to mice, rats and most crawling insects, which disrupts their normal behaviour patterns and makes it uncomfortable for them to stay in the room where the unit is positioned. Ultrasound does not penetrate walls or other solid objects, and is best positioned with an unobstructed 'view' of the target area. This unit uses two ultrasound speakers for added power.
* Random or continuous electromagnetic settings drive pests out from their nesting places in wall and ceiling spaces throughout the building. The electromagnetic function uses every electrical cable in the building to carry and transmit a signal, which can be detected by the pests up to 1 metre from any cable, even inside wall and ceiling spaces.
The unit is safe to use near children and is not known to upset cats, dogs, fish or birds. It will not affect electrical equipment including computers and televisions, and has been tested to exceed current safety requirements

i bought this as i had read some reviews but it definately does not work cos the rats still came and did not seem bothered at all, it emits an unpleasant noise for the rodents but i think they probably used to it and ignore it , its also far too expensive for what it is. try glue of rat cage instead

Well, on plugging this in there was an immediate effect ... the cats were frightened off straight away !
I had to unplug it during their feeding times ... their own fault ... why 4 of them allowed my infestation to progress so far ?
However, it flushed out 3 or 4 mice and these were ejected
After 3 weeks I'm down to one who must be deaf !
I shall persevere and can't complain of the product
