I have a mortal (yes, irrational) fear of spiders. I live in a flat and was getting about 6-10 a week that were about 3 inches in length. Getting desperate, since I can't go near them to dispose of them, I bought one of these. It says to give it a couple of days to see a difference, so seeing 2 the night I plugged it in was okay. That was the last 2 live ones I've seen and I've had the unit for 4 weeks now. It's plugged in in my hallway which is more or less the centre of my flat and appears to be keeping the place spider free.
For those who've said the unit is noisy, perhaps their unit is faulty as mine is silent and I have it on the high pitch setting.
I live in fear of powercuts now.... :)

In complete contrast to the other (slightly strange) review, I have found this product to work exactly as described. I was plagued by spiders entering the house through an air vent in the kitchen, since plugging the device in I can honestly say that I have not seen a single spider in my home. A brilliant product which I have since recommended to family and friends, all of whom have experienced similar results.

Decided to but this product after being plagued by massive, horrible spiders every night for 3 weeks.Have to say was sceptical and didn't really expect it to work but there is no way i'll be sending it back.Had it plugged in for about 5 weeks now and can honestly say that i havn't had a single spider since.Before on average was getting around 3 grandpa of all spiders ever night, both upstaires and downstaires. It's not completely silent and faintly sounds like birds at dawn but nothing that you couldn't live with.Wished i'd bought one years ago!
