The Procter Pest-Stop 2000 ultrasonic and electromagnetic repeller is a technologically advanced device which can be used to safely and effectively repel mice, rats, ants and other crawling insects in any household of up to 2000 square feet. The unit is equipped with two pest repelling functions: ultrasonic waves and dual electromagnetic settings. High-pitched ultrasonic waves cannot be heard by humans but cause auditory stress to any rodents or insects within range. This stress disrupts their normal behaviour and makes it uncomfortable for these animals to stay in the same room as the device. The electromagnetic function uses every electrical cable in the building to carry and transmit a signal, which repels pests within a range of up to 1 m from any cable--even inside wall and ceiling spaces. Both of these functions combined enable the user to rid entire homes of pests without the use of traps or chemicals.
The Procter Pest-Stop 2000 ultrasonic and electromagnetic repeller plugs into a standard UK three-pin socket, so it can be used in any room. It is safe to use in the vicinity of humans, cats, dogs, fish and birds. The ultrasonic function is effective on buildings with a floor space of up to 2000 square feet and works best when there are few obstructions in its path. The repeller is supplied ready for immediate use and comes with instructions.
Procter Pest-Stop 500 ultrasonic pest repellers are manufactured by Procter Brothers Ltd, a UK company that has been making pest control products for more than 100 years.

We live in rural Devon and we'd been plagued by wood mice for 15 years - in all parts of our house, doing £100s of damage. Since we installed this device over a year ago, they've left us alone. Still rife in the garden & outbuildings, and in neighbours' houses, but our house is currently wood mouse free...
So I'd say, give it a try. Maybe its effectiveness varies from species to species. Could be the people it's not working for are dealing with house mice (grey/black urban animals) rather than wood mice (brown rural counterparts).

I have to say I don't agree with a lot of the comments on here that this repeller does not work. I bought two, two years ago, having suffered for over 30 years with a serious...and I mean serious, spider phobia. I couldn't even look at the written word and if I saw one I would be ill for days and on occasions have had to move out from the house. I had therapy (TFT - Thought Field Tapping) which has calmed me down a lot but the best thing has been these pest-stop repellers. I plugged them in, one upstairs and one downstairs and within 3 days, no more spiders and we haven't had any for the last 3 years. We live in quite a rural area and during spider season (Aug-Nov) we would get on average 3 huge ones each night - but thanks to these plug ins....nothing.
I can only assume people have them on the wrong setting or the spotting of 'pests' after plugging them in is in fact the device 'flushing out' the pests (?) All I can say is that they have worked for me and have proved to be invaluable.

After seeing a mouse in the corner of the room i was suprised how fast the rodent was, next day i hear it in my wall scratching away.
I knew i had to do something about it so i bought this product, after about a week the noice had gone and no sight of the little git. about another week later i turned it off and the little rodent was there again. i turned it back on and it was gone within 3 days.
Also Alternate Switch From Constant To Random So the mouse doesnt get used to the product. So one day have it on "Constant" and the next day put it on "Random"
Excellent product and also ive seen a dramatic decrease in spiders.
