Product Description

Book Description

Do things always look smaller when they are further away? Can something be clearly visible but not there at all? Is it ever possible to have direct and true experience of reality? Are you totally sure?

In this delightful and informative little book Phoebe McNaughton takes us on a classical journey through the history of artistic perspective, showing how the eye can be tricked and confused, the brain befuddled, and the philosopher inside all of us awakened by the nature of illusion.

Great little book 22 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback
A great little book on perspective - covers all the basics and beyond, amazing feat in the space. 1, 2, 3, 4 5 point perspective, shadows, slopes, atmospheric perspective, and various projections. I bought a heap of books on perspective, most of them much more expensive than this one, but this is the one I go back to again and again.

Great little handy book for any artist or someone just looking to get to grips with perspective. Thinking of ordering more in the same series of these books also.

Perspective or the way you see things is one of the most interesting avenues of human knowledge. The way you see things makes your world for you .This is an excellent small book(almost a monograph on the subject),and acts as a useful introduction to the subject of space and form.
