Security at its finest
on 26 November 2012
This is a fantastic product. Formerly I set all my passwords to "password" because otherwise I couldn't remember them. Now I write them down in this book with my username, the website they pertain to and any relevant details like any PIN codes, security questions, or mother's maiden name and it couldn't be easier to get into all those accounts.
I've read on here that this is bad practice because if a thief stole the book they could get access to all my accounts, but this is easily remedied: I've hidden the book in a place where nobody can find it! Admittedly the first few times I did this it was a problem because I forgot where I had hidden them - if you do find any of the nine copies that are still missing please return them as they contain all my important account details and I wouldn't like them to fall into the wrong hands - my name and address are on the first page (just above my bank details), but the house is empty every Monday to Friday because I work abroad during the week and I don't have any close neighbours, so you'd be best to drop it round at the weekend unless you want to pop it inside the back door (don't worry, there is no burglar alarm to set off or dogs to worry about!) - the key is under a flowerpot by the step; if you were feeling very helpful you could pop it into the safe next to the jewellery and credit cards; the combination is 7643 (easy to remember as it is the same as my bank card PIN). The safe is in my bedroom hidden next to a small painting - please do be careful not damage it as it is by van Gogh and priceless.
Anyway, I solved the problem of losing the books by hiding a copy under my laptop with just the edge poking out, so unless a thief stole my laptop there would be no chance of them seeing it! I've also increased security by posting copies to strangers and asking them not to look inside unless they are called by me asking for one of the passwords. Honestly, the paranoia surrounding password security is unbelievable; don't let the naysayers put you off buying this innovative product.
