This hardback presentation of the Bible has end of verse references and large print size. The paper, however is slightly thin, so at times there is not much contrast between the text and the blank paper in the page you are reading because the text on the other side can almost be seen through the page.

However, it is a good presentation of the Bible.

Personal size giant print reference bible. 12 Mar. 2006
By PAUL DAUGHERTY - Published on
Format: Paperback
This book is well made, good paper, gilt edged w/ribbon marker. good soft leather binding. good contrast ratio for easy reading and large print. My Aunt( for whom I bought it) who has very limited vision cannot read a regular book. She LOVES this bible. She can see the words and read it clearly.

great study Bible, good value 10 Sept. 2008
By S. Chasse - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I gave this one to my (then) 6 year old for his AWANA classes, and he has had it for 2 years now. We do have it in a case, now, but even with the abuse from a little boy, it is still in perfect condition, great study Bible and nice big print, good value, I shopped around, this was a good price. KJV is the real version, everything else is just loosely translated, this is what you want! God Bless!

A decent-quality hardcover Bible at an unbeatable price 3 Oct. 2012
By James Pettis - Published on
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
If you need a cheap - emphasize, CHEAP - large print King James Version Bible, this is the one to get.

- large print really is large (13 points) and easier to read (much better than the typical pew Bible, usually 8 points)
- reasonably bright white paper (good when reading in good lighting conditions)
- end of verse cross references are useful because you don't have to hunt for letter or number codes in a column to find them (but see below)
- "self-pronunciation" is very effective for readers who take advantage of that feature
- ribbon markers

- cheap-feeling cover (light and delicate-feeling compared to the sturdy, pebbly cover of a Gideon Bible)
- very thin paper causes print on the other side of the page to "bleed through", making the Bible a little difficult to read in dim light, but still very easy to read in bright light
- references at the end of the verse are in very small print...probably too difficult to read for someone who needs a large print Bible
- for KJV purists, this does not use the standard Oxford text but (instead) uses a typical variant KJV text. (Most KJV owners already have a variant text and would never be able to tell the difference between it and the standard Oxford text.)

Special note: Jehovah's Witnesses will find this edition acceptable because no cross appears on the cover, title page or elsewhere that I could find.

For those who can afford it, I recommend an edition with a sturdier cover and paper that does not allow print to "bleed through". For those to whom price is all-important, this is a decent-quality hardcover Bible at an unbeatable price.

Giant print? 7 July 2005
By Robert W. Diamond - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Actually I like the Bible very much. Yet, I was expecting larger print. I have another Bible that is labeled as giant print like this one and it has print that is twice as large as this one or so it seems. I guess giant print means different things to different companies. I got it mainly for it's hard cover. Overall I am satified. It was shipped to me quickly, too.

not great 7 July 2005
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Luckily, I purchased these for pew bibles, becauses the dedication pages are still dated 19__, even though they were just published in June of 2005. Bible is kind of hard to read because the print on the back of the page shows through. Nice hardcover, though. Should be sturdy.
