While the book was ok, it appears that the writing was for those of the Elementary aged child. My 10 year old was bored with the story, and as this was advertised as a Harry Potter level book, I was personally let down with what I read.While Harry Potter, Fablehaven, and the like are all written for the young adults, the stories were more intricate than that of what I read on this book. The characters, while decently created, the dialog in the book was simple in it's creation, the narration had no depth, and the scene descriptions were hastily concocted which led to a choppy flow of the story.
This wouldn't be too bad for a child, however, as having three teenagers that were looking for other types of fantasy fiction, they were, as well as I, let down with this purchase. If you purchase it, please take note and read their chapter listing at [...].
Also, their home page of their website looks like a spam website, complete with fake reviews. I apologize for the tone of this review, however, it was a complete waste of time and money.

This book of fantasy and magic was a pure delight. You found yourself identifying with the characters. It's always a pleasure to read something that is well written. The authour is an authority on herbal and natural medicine. Therefore the facts are first hand. It's fun to transport yourself into a world of makebelieve. Can't wait for more from Lady Ellen. Pick yourself up a copy of this good read. You won't be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book. It had all the elements of fantasy, magic, adventure, good versus evil, humor, and wonderful characters.I sent a copy of this book to my 15 year old grandaughter when it first came out. She loved it and is waiting for the second book.
I think if you love fantasy and magic, this book sweeps across the generations. I loved it, and I am well over 40 years old!!!
