I bought these to label my CD/DVD RW, well, no problems with writing: the ink dries almost instantly, and keeps well. To remove it though, I have to use the eraser, that is just a marker filled with solvent, and use it together with a paper tissue. In fact the solvent dries quickly as well, leaving a big stain of semi-permanent ink in place of the letters, if not immediately removed.
In case you have bought one, or you haven't found a better alternative, the technique I use is to hold the eraser normally between index and thumb fingers, and keep the tip of a paper tissue just behind with my middle finger. Then quickly wiping the surface so that the tip of the eraser is followed by the tissue. This way almost all the ink gets removed.
