4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting information but not always practical 26 April 1998
By A Customer
I found this to be a thoroughly absorbing reference - it was the follow-up to his earlier simple manuals that hooked me on permaculture 20 years ago...

5.0 out of 5 stars Survival Manual For The Coming Crisis 15 Oct 2002
An excellent, well written and to say the least, timely book. If you've found your way to this page, you NEED to read this book. It's full of practical advice, and above all else shows the beauty and integrety of the ecosystem that is planet Earth. Whilst highlighting our present lemming-like rush towards oblivion, what this book has to recomend it are its practical, common-sense solutions to our present environmental problems. As the auther himself says
"If every university on Earth was destroyed
we would lose nothing. If we lose the forests, we will have lost everything"
Read this book and invest in a future.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Book for Landscape Use and Planning 3 Feb 2006
This Book describes the uses of nature in the best clear and pragmatics way one can imagine. It doesn't mater were on earth you are the principles are so clear, simple and implementable by the everyday man that if the costs would be reduced it could be a book for Secondary level biology for all.

There will be a time many of us will loose this pragmatism and understanding of nature and its resources for the benefit of the IT World but what will really matter in the end.

Very Very good Book.
