4.0 out of 5 stars Feeder Review 29 Mar 2010
By B. Hurtado - Published on Amazon.com
I wanted to wait a while before giving a review. This Hummingbird feeder works well and several males fight over whose gets to use it (females of course having free reign). It doesn't refill as well as I would like - but none of them do. It also drips on its own when the ambient temperature rises, but that means the holes aren't clogged up like I've seen with other feeders.
I wish it had perches - and apparently, so do some of the birds. I made some and glued them on. The birds seem to appreciate this, as I put on two (there are four feeding areas) and those are the ones the females use. I guess not having to expend energy while replenishing it works better. The males prefer the openings without the perches so they can be ready to chase off other males I presume.
I also have chickadees and orioles who visit on occasion, and seem to appreciate the perches.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent but wish it had perches 17 May 2012

The birds like this feeder well enough, and it doesn't seem to drip or leak onto the ground. I wish it had perches built into it, but as another reviewer mentioned, I think I will add my own the next time I take it down to fill it.

It is well made, but it doesn't attract the hummingbirds like the other feeder I purchased. I do not use red dyed sugar water. I make my own to avoid poisoning the hummingbirds. Like I said it holds up very well and is fairly easy to clean.
5.0 out of 5 stars Hummingbird feeder 31 July 2013

Most all of the feeders I have used in the past have eventually leaked because of too many parts to put together. This feeder is simple...two parts that screw together and no leaks, even in the wind. Not to mention, it is a nice looking feeder.
3.0 out of 5 stars No frills functional 20 Jan 2013
By Eric A. Bratcher - Published on Amazon.com
This feeder lasted me almost two years.

Pros:
- It has nice capacity.
- I've had hummers fighting for a chance to use it.
- Low price.
- Did not leak, even after the base cracked (see below).

Cons:
- Low-grade plastic. Hanging in full sun, the clear plastic bulb yellowed within weeks. And recently, it developed an inch-long crack. It hadn't been dropped, but I believe the sun weakened the plastic over time. Also, the base cracked maybe a year ago at the spot where the bottle screws in (I didn't tighten it THAT hard).
- Not easy to clean. The base has nooks and crannies inside that no brush seems able to reach.
- Has to be overturned to fill. Which is a pain and means anything left in the bottom bowl will spill onto your hands.
